How many entry gates are there in Sariska?

There are three safari zones within the core area of Sariska Tiger Reserve and two main entry gates:

Gate No. 1 – Sariska (Sadar Gate) Zone 1 and Zone 2

Gate No. 2 – Tehla Gate Zone 4

About the Safari Gates

Sariska Sadar Gate is the most popular entry point, located along the state highway toward Jaipur. This zone is known for frequent tiger movements — notable tigers such as ST 7, ST 9, ST 15, and ST 21 are often sighted here, occasionally even near the highway. The gate also offers easy access to Alwar City and Bala Quila Buffer Zone safaris, making it ideal for same-day visitors.

Tehla Gate Safari Details

Around five gypsy vehicles operate from Tehla Gate, the second entry point to Sariska Tiger Reserve core area. This gate is ideal for guests who plan a longer wildlife stay, offering several nearby resorts with rustic charm, excellent bird-watching, and village hiking tours that can be arranged through Sariska Safari Booking.

How Many Entry Gates Are There in Sariska?

Sariska Tiger Reserve has three main entry gates that provide access to different safari zones

Gate No. 1 – Sariska (Sadar) Gate

The primary and most popular entry point, located near Thanagazi (8 km) and Alwar city (35 km). This gate is often used for safaris in core zones where tigers such as ST9, ST15, and ST21 are frequently sighted.

Gate No. 2 – Tehla Gate

Situated on the southern side of the reserve, Tehla Gate is ideal for visitors staying in nearby nature resorts. The gate offers access to zones with excellent chances for wildlife and bird sightings, including ST7, ST15, and ST23.

Bala Quila Gate (Alwar Side)

This gate serves as the starting point for Bala Quila Leopard Safari and Bara Liwari Zone Safari, where tigers ST18 and ST19 and their cubs are often recorded.

After payment confirmation, we book your safari through the official forest department system and share the entry tickets and invoice with you.

Step 5

A day before your safari, we’ll send you the contact details of our on-ground coordinator for smooth safari assistance.

All safari vehicle allocations, guides, and zone assignments are managed by the Rajasthan Forest Department through a computerized system.

Tiger Sighting Probability by Gate & Zone (Updated)

While wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, the Sariska Tiger Reserve currently hosts several well-known tigers across its main zones. Data below is based on recent tracking records and guest observations.

Gate / Zone Commonly Sighted Tigers Notes:

• Sariska (Sadar) Gate ST7, ST9, ST15, ST21 Core zone of the reserve, frequent movement near grasslands and water bodies.
• Tehla Gate ST7, ST9, ST15, ST21, ST23 Southern entry zone known for dense forest areas and occasional tiger crossings.
• Bara Liwari Zone (via Bala Quila Gate) ST18, ST19 (with 4 cubs), ST2302 (with 2 cubs), and three tigresses from ST19’s second litter ST19 has produced 9 cubs here over time (one cub did not survive after relocation). This zone is popular for leopard and tiger tracking.

• Safari bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable once confirmed by the forest department.
• All safaris are subject to availability, government rules, and zone allotment by the park authorities.
• Tatkal charges may apply for last-minute or urgent bookings
• All payments are accepted only in the name of Sariska Safari Booking through our official payment links or bank details mentioned on this website.
• ID proof like Aadhar card, Pan card etc for Indian nationals and passport is required for non-Indian nationals
• There is no concession in safari charges for Embassy diplomats, counsellors per the rational of officials price is defined Indian and non-Indian.
• No exchange or transfer of confirmed ride.
• Confirm your accommodation earlier as Sariska Sadar gate and Tehla gate are 65 KMs away from each other.
• Provide full information when travelling with infants and children as children requiring seat to sit are considered separate passenger and full price is chargeable.
• However your safari is confirmed by us but reach on scheduled time for safari at the designated gate
• Park could be closed without any prior notice for visitor
• If safari price is revised by government then difference is to be paid by visitors
• Ideally we prefer to book full gypsy however if you are booking on per person basis then if all six seats are not booked then in such a situation of incomplete occupancy visitors will be liable to pay the difference at the time of start of safari.
• Weekend safari is always advisable to plan with us well in advance.
• Safari duration is three hours
• Our offer of Sariska Online Safari Booking covers government fees, permit, nature guide, vehicle and driver, apart from that our service charges, ground handling charges are included but doesn’t cover any same day booking extra charge or Extended Experiential safari with our field expert naturalis
• Extended Experiential Safari is only booked as a package of three back to back safaris in multiple days
• We are most trusted and believe in service with ethics and transparency and we understood emergency situations but once safari is booked amount is gone from our pocket too.
